TWMLA Collaborates on Buffalo Master Plan

Last week the Buffalo Urban Development Corporation released a visionary Downtown Infrastructure Master Plan that TWMLA played an integral part in developing. The plan outlines a series of streetscape and other infrastructure improvements to make the city’s urban core more walkable, more appealing to residents, and more attractive to private investment. It focuses on four distinct areas in downtown Buffalo – the Main Street Investment Corridor, the Entertainment Node, the Civic/Employment Node, and the Erie/Shelton Square Node – and provides a framework for making decisions about where to target new initiatives in those areas. TWMLA assisted in evolving development strategies and provided comprehensive streetscape design guidelines. The design team was led by Urban Strategies, an urban design and planning firm based in Toronto.
